Water quality in the Murray–Darling Basin in the face of a changing climate

Understanding how climate change will affect water availability and management is one of the four key Basin Plan Review (BPR) themes.

An assessment of projected climate change impacts on water quality is a key outcome of a suite of water quality projects supporting the BPR. The predicted climate impacts on water quality along with the risk assessment methodology will inform both the BPR and ongoing adaptive water resource management in the Basin. It provides a consistent framework for assessing risk and can be used by multiple stakeholders and at multiple scales across the Basin.

This Basin-wide risk assessment framework contains:

  • Part A: Approach and findings
  • Part B: Introduction to the Generic Riverine Unit Framework and associated fact sheets and case studies.
