Poster from Murray–Darling Water and Environment Research Program (MD-WERP) Annual Symposium 2023
Climate change is projected to result in hotter temperatures, lower rainfall, and reduced runoff, in the Murray–Darling Basin. Understanding the nature and impacts of these climate changes on water resources, communities and environment will inform the strategies required to adapt.
The hydroclimate analysis case-study seeks to explore and demonstrate methods for assessing Basin outcomes under historical, stochastic and future climates in order to assess the vulnerability to climate change and identify adaptation options.
The research outcomes are improved understanding and knowledge of the potential impacts of climate change in the Macquarie River catchment on water resources.
