Assessing anthropocentric and climatic risks to future groundwater conditions in the Murray–Darling Basin

MD-WERP tactical project: Assessing anthropocentric and climatic risks to future groundwater condition in the Murray–Darling Basin (MDB)

Project Lead: CSIRO

With projected declines in rainfall and increased climate variability, groundwater is expected to play a more significant role in supplementing water demand.

The study underscores the inter-relatedness in the use of surface and groundwater resources in the Basin which offers opportunity for conjunctive groundwater and surface water management, particularly as climate change alters water balance dynamics in the Murray–Darling Basin.
