This report summarises the social and economic evidence that has contributed to the assessment of the impact of the Basin Plan. It is a technical companion to the 2025 Basin Plan Evaluation, drawing on updated social and economic data and modelling to complement the policy lens of the Evaluation. It presents an updated description of social and economic conditions and trends in the Basin alongside high-level findings on the estimated impacts of Basin Plan implementation to date, including the impacts of associated water recovery for the environment.
