As part of the 2025 Sustainable Rivers Audit (SRA), the Bureau of Meteorology (Bureau) has undertaken an in-depth analysis of the hydroclimate trends and current conditions of the Murray–Darling Basin (Basin) to inform the Murray–Darling Basin Authority's (MDBA) comprehensive assessment of the ecological health of rivers in the Basin.
This report presents a synthesis of the current available hydroclimatic information relating to observed trends and historical conditions across the Basin.
